LOOKING DEEPER

BSDChazal teach us that before the sin of Adam, his body was transluscent, ethereal and barely noticable. His soul was so powerful, so pervasive, so primary that the angels who saw him began to sing praises to him as if he were Hashem. Only when Adam stopped the song of the angels and clarified that he was man, a created being as them, did the angels perceive his physicality.
Adam was a soul. His body was barely visible and certainly not primary.
One result of the premature eating from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil was that a reversal took place within Adam. This descent magnified his body, placing it in a primary position. His soul became almost invisible.
